Call for Demos
Demo submissions are invited to be included in the BPM 2011 Demonstration Track. This track is intended to showcase innovative Business Process Management (BPM) tools and applications that may originate either from research initiatives or from industry. The Demonstration Track will provide an opportunity to present and discuss emerging technologies with researchers and practitioners in the BPM field.
Demo proposals should comprise the following sections in no more than 2 pages:
- Title and Authors List.
- Abstract: a brief description of the demo, together with a statement on how conference participants will benefit from attending the demo and for what target audience the demo will most likely be of interest (this information will be made available to the conference participants in a booklet).
- Maturity: information illustrating the maturity, complexity and robustness of the tool (e.g., availability of the tool, list of features, supported use cases, conducted case studies, scalability data, number and types of users, etc.)
- Screen-cast: a reference must be provided to one or two screen-casts, including voice, of the planned demonstration. The overall amount of time to be covered is 10 minutes. While the choice of software for creating and sharing the screen-cast(s) is free you may want to consider Screenr. It can be used to create two five-minute screen-casts, similar to the examples on http://screenr.com/HWm and http://screenr.com/WWm.
- Link: if available, a link to a web-page where to download the tool.
Demo proposals are also encouraged for tools that have already been demonstrated in previous BPM Demo tracks.
In addition, authors can optionally submit a demo paper for publication in the on-line CEUR proceedings. Demo papers should have a research focus. They have to:
- clearly state how the presented tools are innovative,
- describe their significance to the BPM field,
- list their main features and specify their maturity level,
- if applicable, include brief descriptions of case studies performed using these tools, and pointers indicating where readers can find more information about these case studies.
Demo papers should be original. If a demo paper has previously been published for the same tool, the 2011 submission should add value to the previous publication, e.g. by pointing out significant new tool features and/or new practical applications. Paper submissions must not exceed 5 pages and must adhere to the conference paper submission formatting guidelines.
Demo proposals and demo papers should be submitted through the EasyChair conference submission system and will be reviewed by the demo reviewing committee. If authors intend to submit both a demo proposal and a demo paper, they are asked to upload one zip archive that includes two separate files (each in PDF format). There will be separate decisions for demo proposals and demo papers. However, acceptance of a demo paper is subject to the acceptance of the corresponding demo proposal.
